Oh my Gaga!
Our office was on fire when Lady Gaga's stylist emailed us about our Monster Jacket for one and only Mother Monster!
One day notice, never done before design and shipped next day to LA!
The idea was pretty simple: same Monster Jacket shape but made out of unreal holographic fabric that we had to hand cut to strips and then sew them on a top of the other fabric.
Sounds easy but it wasn't!
All of the strips had to have the same length and width so cutting them took a good few hours and we've nearly run out of fabric!
So about 1000 strips later jacket was finished!
I must say it looked way better in real life!
Originally it was meant to be used in tv advert for Coachella but because of unknown reasons it wasn't. Stylist promised that it will be shown in upcoming projects so I can't wait to see it!
One of the biggest struggles here was time pressure as we had to do it in one day so me and other intern we had to cut all of the stripes when someone else did cut out an actual jacket and lining for it and put it together. Only because of good team work we've managed to do such a thing in a really short period of time. This project shown me what I am capable of when I am under time pressure and it will definitely help me with my final project! x
